Welding

Welding is a fabrication process of joining metal parts together by heating their surfaces to the point of melting with a torch or electric arc. The technique is used in small to large steel structural fabrication, pipe assemblies, and industrial equipment manufacturing.

PFC – Approved Welding Processes & Certified Welders

PFC offers a range of welding services, and we are certified under:

  • ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
  • AWS (American Welding Society)
  • NAVSEA (Naval Sea Systems)

PFC provides all types of welding, including GTAW (TIG), SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (inner shield), and Orbital.

We have state-of-the-art welding machines, including Miller MIG equipment, TIG equipment, and computerized orbital welding machines for welding steel structures and stainless pipe and tubing.

Our procedures follow AWS D1.1 for carbon steel, AWS D1.2 for aluminum, and AWS D1.6 for stainless steel. Additionally, all welding procedures, equipment, and personnel comply with ASME section 9 and B31.3 for pressure pipe welding.

When it comes to inspection, PFC provides visual inspection of all welding works by a certified weld inspector (CWI) and facilitates examination through magnetic particle, dye penetrant, or x-ray, as required by project specifications.
